“‘Keep your hands on your horns when gods invite you to dinner,’ boss,” Huì cautioned, his beady garnet eyes narrowing as he clapped a massive paw on his superior’s shoulder, “No telling what that sniveling little bastard is up to.”

An invitation from a god, no matter how minor or distasteful, was a good as summons to a demon, as both well knew.

“Hn, more likely, ‘keep one hand on your stomach,’” Yǎn-sui amended sardonically, baring his fangs as he grinned, “His vapid face is enough to turn any gut.”

“True enough!” Huì agreed, snorting wheezy laughter which rather befit his hog-monkey-like countenance. He sobered quickly. “You’re not going alone, are you, boss?”

Yǎn-sui cocked his head. “I wouldn’t have told you about it if you weren’t the one I wanted watching my back,” he replied dryly, “I’d like a hand free to use Tiào-fei if I have to.”

“And I’d like to have a hand free to snag one of those sexy serving girls Pi lì’s place is so famous for!” Huì crowed, overjoyed at being selected for so high an honor. No other demon among Agni’s ranks was so well-respected (or feared) as a warrior as Yǎn-sui, and the fact that he and Huì were longtime comrades was not something the lesser demon took for granted.

“Don’t make me regret choosing you, Huì,” Yǎn-sui said flatly.

“Yes, boss. Sorry, boss.”

Huì is a fun character to write - I regret having to kill him off right after introducing him! I think I'll have to write a story for him if i get the time!

I'll scrap this once i have the color version up. I think its going to have to include a Huì thought-bubble complete with buxom, bawdy wenches - which would probably explain Yǎn-sui's expression, as he knows his friend too well!

Yǎn-sui is The Blue Spirit from Fire Nation legend, btw, and Agni's most powerful demon general. He's also shorter than most demons, despite being nearly seven feet tall (Huì is actually the average height, around seven and a half to eight feet)
